Update #6 - May 16, 2012

Seating at the table(s) will be chosen in a random fashion.  A dealer button will designate who the current dealer is.  Initially, the dealer will be responsible for dealing the cards (but will probably not have to do this the entire night as players who have been eliminated may then step into actually shuffling and dealing out the cards).  However, the dealer button will always move to the next active player to the left.
  1. The dealer will deal out two face-down cards to each active player at the table.
  2. Initial betting round begins to the person three spots to the left of the dealer (as the first two spots were the small and big blinds).
  3. Dealer sloughs a card and then deals three cards face-up (the "flop").
  4. Round of betting beginning with active player to the immediate left of dealer.
  5. Slough a card and then deal another card face up (the "turn").
  6. Round of betting.
  7. Slough last card then deal last card face up (the "river").
  8. Round of betting.
  9. Showdown.
If there is a showdown (at least two players stayed in all the way to the end), the winner is whoever has the best hand out of 5 cards.  It does not matter what the player says he has.  If it is determined he has the best hand, then he is the winner.

Tomorrow I should have a good idea what the total of number of players will be.  This will determine how many tables there will be at the start and how many chips every participant starts with.  I will go over these details in tomorrow's post.
