The Redemption of Kevin

On a night where two tournaments took place, we saw the rise of Kevin and the demise of Joel.  And first-timer  J. T. came out on top.

It was a strange night where the flops were silly good.  One round was especially pivotal very early on. Kevin was holding 5-7 when the flop was 4-6-8 (Who do we appreciate?  Not Kevin!).  That round dealt a death blow to both Joel and Brett who were betting hard as Joel had pocket Queens and Brett had 6-8.  Kevin just kept calling and finally found redemption with his straight!

J. T. mixed it up nicely with some timely bluffing (well, he said he was bluffing) and some aggressive bets with decent hands.  Andrew was the defending champion but went down in a blaze of glory in the first tournament only to find some redemption himself in the second tournament as he took top honors the second go-around.  Both tournaments moved quickly with the big blind never getting higher than $600.  Complete results of both tournaments can be seen on the right.

A great time was had by all and we hope to have a summer tournament the first weekend in July.  Andrew will be there.
